“When I was 17, my dermatologist confirmed that I had a case of cystic acne. It was also the first time I was attending a co-Ed school and needless to say, I felt like everyone was staring at my acne when they were talking to me.

To make things worse, at that age, boys would insensitively ask me, “what happened to your face?” To which I would snap at them and walk away, in fear of being judged. I avoided mirrors as much as I could and didn’t take many pictures during that period of my life.”
